Tom Stoppard
Sir Tom Stoppard is a distinguished playwright (Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Arcadia, Travesties, The Real Inspector Hound, After Magritte) and movie screenwriter/script doctor (including as Steven Spielberg’s go-to man for many of his films). Shakespeare is either the framework or the subject of several of Stoppard’s works, and they are funny, irreverent, philosophical, and thought-provoking. This week, Leigh and P. T. discuss the life (so far) and works (well, some) of Sir Tom Stoppard, who has a very different view of the Bard and a very collaborative perspective on theater.
