The Best Short Stories
Roger Smith, director of The Learning Center, joins Leigh and P. T. this week to discuss the best short stories (as chosen by some of the best literary minds of the Savannah community) and the upcoming series on said subject that begins September 18. Lectures will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and include stories such as “The Minister’s Black Veil” by Nathaniel Hawthorne, “Hills Like White Elephants” by Ernest Hemingway, “The Guest” by Albert Camus, “Good Country People” by Flannery O’Connor, “Winter Dreams” by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and more. Roger chats about his favorite short story, his “Southern Literary Landscapes” series that begins on Mondays in October, and what’s next for both him and the center.
