Brother’s Keeper
John Stamp
Alex and Charlie are brothers in arms, a friendship born in the blood and violence of the battle of Fallujah. After they return home, they become cops in the southern port city of Charleston. But Charlie can’t let the adrenaline rush of the battlefield go, and it shows on the street. Always looking for a fight, he crosses the line one too many times, going so far that even Alex can’t bring him back. That’s what Alex thought anyway … until a terse message left by his former partner leads him into a gunfight and down a deeper and more treacherous hole. Turns out Charlie hasn’t gone dark but deep undercover, sacrificing his life and his reputation to do so. Now Alex has to rescue a man he’s written off, because, well, brothers are brothers. Running the gauntlet to save his friend from a nefarious network of human traffickers, Alex swears that once Charlie’s safe, he might just kill him himself.
