Contemporary Classics from 7-9pm this Tuesday again on WRUU at 107.5 FM in Savannah and wruu.org elsewhere is the second show that will feature contemporary classical performances by musicians and music that were featured at the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville last weekend.  This will include: Applebox Double by Pauline Oliveros which was performed by the International Contemporary Ensemble at the festival;  Julia Wolfe’s Big Beautiful Dark and Scary which was performed by the Bang on a Can All-Stars; Griff, Quintet for Banjo and Strings: Movement II and Night Flight Over Water            all by Béla Fleck and performed by Béla Fleck & Brooklyn Rider; BTT by Colin Jacobson performed by Brooklyn Rider; Anna Thorvaldsdottir’s Transitions performed by Michael Nicolas, a member of the International Contemporary Ensemble and closing with Olivier Messiaen’s Morning Conjugal Death Waltz performed by Susan Alcorn.
