An Alabama native, Gaddy received his MFA in Painting from the University of Alabama. He has taught throughout the Southeast but has settled at Georgia Southern University. He has exhibited all over the country and received numerous awards including a Joan Mitchell Foundation grant and a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant. He is Vice President of Development for Foundations in Art: Theory and Education (FATE) and also edits their podcast Positive Space. When not making, exhibiting, teaching, shilling for or thinking about art, Gaddy writes for and hosts Brew/Drink/Run a podcast devoted to craft beer and exercise.
