KR_Cole_Paris_CoverR2_600x600Dave Lake is the substitute host for Beyond the Liner Notes from 11-12noon on Friday with a show entitled Paris, 1920s.  He will be playing the popular music that drove the craze for the black bottom and the charleston, songs of Cole Porter who spent much of the 1920s in Paris and his first big hit review on Broadway was called Paris.  And there will also be some Josephine Baker.  There will be talk about Ada Bricktop Smith and her relationships with Cole Porter and Josephine Baker.  Jazz influenced the music of the great French classical music composers and there will be some music of Satie, Milhaud and Poulenc.
