A Christmas Tale or Two
Works by Lucy Maud Montgomery, Nora A. Smith, Charles Dickens, George Wither, and Helen Maria Williams
It’s Christmas Day, and to celebrate, WRUU has decked out the studio … not so much with lights (we have a studio board for that any given day!) but Christmas tales and tunes. So curl up by the fire — or, well, marsh — as there is much Christmas literature to go around. Join us as we read together two stories, one essay, and three poems:
- “Christmas at Red Butte” by Lucy Maud Montgomery
- “Little Piccola” by Nora Archibald Smith
- “What Christmas Is As We Grow Older” by Charles Dickens
- “A Christmas Carol” by George Wither
- “To Mrs K____, On Her Sending Me an English Christmas Plum-Cake at Paris” by Helen Maria Williams
- “A Christmas Carol” (an Old English Carol)
