Tonight’s Strozier Lecture features Dr. ChristopherGarland speaking on the topic of “The Visual Rhetoric of Opioid Addiction, Abjection, and White Trash”
Dr. Garland is anassistant professor of Writing and Linguistics in the College Of Arts andHumanities at Georgia Southern University. He has also taught at the Universityof Southern Mississippi and the University of Florida. His writing has appearedin the Journal of Social and Economic Studies, Contemporary French andFrancophone Studies, Writing Visual Culture, and Mediascape, as well as in theedited collections Hollywood’s Africa after 1994 (Ohio University Press) andHaiti and the Americas (University Press of Mississippi).
