Rehab and Release
A conversation with Jeanne Paddison
Our four-legged friends (or other combinations of locomotors) have struggled during the novel coronavirus pandemic just like us, but even in normal times, they sometimes need a helping hand or two. And that’s just what the Savannah Wildlife Rescue Center (SWRC) does: rehabilitate small mammals (i.e., not reptiles or birds) so they can be released back into the wild. It can be a rough go, as humans encroach in so many ways on their worlds. Licensed wildlife rehabilitator and SWRC executive director Jeanne Paddison joins Leigh this week to examine our modern moment from mammalian eyes other than our own.
