“Good Country People”
Flannery O’Connor
“The truth does not change according to our ability to stomach it.” So said Flannery O’Connor, and her writing seems to focus on the less palatable examples of humanity. Her stories are set in the South — she was born in Savannah (96 years ago last Thursday!) and lived in Milledgeville for many years. This week, Leigh E. Rich, P. T. Bridgeport, and Dr. Carol Andrews examine the life and work of Georgia’s very own O’Connor, focusing on the story “Good Country People.”
