Banned Books (pt. II)
According to the American Library Association, there was a significant increase in 2021 in the number of challenges to books within school systems and beyond — and it doesn’t look like this wave is abating. In our present times and the past, notable literary works have been challenged, banned, and sometimes even burned. This week, the L2L trio of Leigh, P. T., and Dr. C continue examining some on this list.
Books examined in this episode include:
- J. D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye
- Joseph Heller, Catch-22
- Toni Morrison, Beloved
