She Has a Name
A conversation with Dr. Addie Martindale, Kiara Mack-Blue, Hailey Mcnulty, and Kamryn Smith
Women, and especially underrepresented women, often are judged by their appearance — but how might their clothing and comportment help us “see” them in a more authentic way? She Has a Name, a student-led exhibit by the “History of Costume” class at Georgia Southern University, showcases the lives and fashion of ten influential Black women of Georgia. Student leaders Kiara Mack-Blue, Hailey Mcnulty, and Kamryn Smith, along with Dr. Addie Martindale, join Leigh to discuss the importance of “seeing” and “naming” the women who continue to fashion Georgia and American history.
