This Time: New and Selected Poems
Gerald Stern
Gerald Stern, born in Pittsburgh in 1925, was the poet of the urban sons and daughters of immigrants. He died recently in New York, after a long career as a poet, essayist, and educator. He was a master storyteller who wove into his work the asides and non sequiturs of the most seasoned raconteurs. But are they really non sequiturs? This week, Leigh, P. T., and Dr. C discuss the stories and the telling of Gerald Stern.
