The Face of War
Martha Gellhorn
Martha Gellhorn … wasn’t she a noted war correspondent? Didn’t she marry Hemingway? Both are true, but she was so much more than that. She covered the Depression, World War II, and conflicts up to the Vietnam War, mainly for Collier’s Magazine. Her prose was vibrant and makes riveting reading still today. Further, she wrote novels, short stories, and even screenplays that explore the human condition based on her experiences. This week, Leigh, P. T., and Dr. C examine the life and work of a quite underrated writer.
