Change carries with it the hope of something better and the fear of the unknown. I made a few changes to Voices or Reason, adding these segments: follow-up from prior show, this is the week that is and was, a discussion of the topic at hand (in this case “change). and finally, thinking cap time. Your input on these changes are most welcomed.
As we approach the federal government transition to a new president, changes that will impact us personally, our communities, our nation and the world have dominated my conversations with people since November 5. I asked, “How can we come together to accept the change we cannot change, change the change we can, together as we move into the new year and the new world.” With so many opinions of what this change will bring, I felt the need for truth and suggested a few ways to find the truth tellers, instead of opinionators who often lead us astray with mis- and disinformation. One such program is Americans Who Tell the Truth (AWTT), begun in 2002 by Robert Shetterly, was created to expose us to people who are models of courageous citizenship for telling the truth: Americans Who Tell The Truth. I am hoping to bring this program to Savannah.
Over the long and winding roads from my home to WRUU, I have also discovered podcasts, many featuring truthtellers who are part of AWTT, that present facts and enable me to put on my thinking cap and form my own opinions, including Middle East Eye, AntiWar.com, Judging Freedom, System Update with Glenn Greenwald, Mother of all Talk Shows (MOATS), Ralph Nader Radio Hour, The Grayzone, The Chris Hedges Report, The Duran, Sheer Intelligence, Common Censored, The Electronic Intifada, The Socialist Program, Moment of Clarity, Useful Idiots, and for a bid of comedy with my truth, The Jimmy Dore Show. The one show I cannot recommend because its platform was censored by the USA government and removed from airing, is The Critical Hour. I hope you find these shows and your truthtellers.
