Tonight on Evening Eclectic I am talking with violinist Daniel Ching. Daniel is a Founding member of the Miro String Quartet. The Miro Quartet released back in mid-May their newest album “Home” on Pentatone Records. This album explores the many meanings of “home” through works by four Pulitzer Prize-winning American composers, including two new commissions by Kevin Puts and Caroline Shaw paired with classic works for string quartet by George Walker and Samuel Barber. And the album ends with and arrangement of the iconic Harold Arlen tune Over the Rainbow.
This album was nominated in the category of Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance for the 2025 Grammy awards.
