Imagine putting suicide on trial for the crimes of bullying, theft, narcissism, manipulation, and homewrecking via destruction of families, friendships and the community. That is exactly what Lisa B the Author, aka Lisa Barnes, did with her second book, Juror: Number 312. In November, 2023, Lisa first came on Voices of Reason to discuss her grief journey after the loss of her son Tre to suicide. She wrote to heal. In her first book, What Now, How to Survive a Loss Due to Suicide, she presented her journey from her son’s birth in 1991, through his happy and turbulent times, to his suicide on January 8, 2012, and her path of survival. She used that book not only to survive and live again but also to bring attention to the reality of suicide to help others and bring services to those contemplating suicide.
In Juror: Number 312, Lisa indicts suicide to be held accountable for the havoc suicide has caused through the words of its survivors as well as those who have struggled with suicide ideation.
