Tonight on Savannah Music Local and Sustainable I am talking with Jason Max Ferdinand who will be conducting the Savannah Philharmonic orchestra and Chorus at the February 15th concert entitled SYMPHONIC SPIRIT. Maestro Ferdinand and the Philharmonic orchestra and chorus will be joined by tenor Roderick George for the second half of the program. This is an evening of the secular and sacred music opening with VERDI’s Nabucco Overture and ADOLPHUS HAILSTORK’s Symphony No. 1 with the second half of the program featuring African-American spirituals. This Saturday, February 15th concert will be at the Philharmonic’s home The Lucas Theatre for the Arts at 7:30pm.
