Tonight on Contemporary Classics I have return visits by flutist Claire Chase and by the JACK quartet violinist Austin Wulliman who are joined by composer Samuel Clay Birmaher and we are talking about a realization of Terry Riley’s The Holy Liftoff. This work was commissioned as the 11th installment of Claire’s Density 2036 project. The album, the Holy Liftoff, was released this past Friday on July 17 on Sono Luminus records.
