Fri. 12.06 pm – Joan Didion started as a magazine writer, and wrote so well that her articles transformed journalism. 05/14/2021.
She followed with incisive and entertaining essays, fiction and screenplays, but her first book was a collection of essays called Slouching Toward Bethlehem, an acute and instructive look at America of the late 60s. Leigh and P.T. discuss the essay of the same name from that book, a ground zero report on Haight-Ashbury, and at Didion’s immense contribution to American literature.
