Metropolitan Opera LIVE 02/17/2017

Alert! Today only the Metropolitan Opera Matinee will air at 12-6 pm instead of the usual 1pm.  It also will pre-empt “When the Moon Sings” at 5pm. Thank you.

Today the Metropolitan Opera Matinee will feature: WAGNER – Parsifal. The opera tells the tale of a young man who is destined to renew a brotherhood of knights charged with guarding the relics of Christ’s last days. The psychological, mythical, and mystical possibilities of such a story are obvious, and Wagner’s accomplishment results in an air of reverence that surrounds this piece.
