This week on Contemporary Classics I am featuring the music of and an interview with the Oregon composer Christopher M. Wicks. As part of that interview we will be playing his new opera “Love Is Strong As Death”. In addition I will be playing a few other works by Christopher including his Violin Sonata #6 and his Piano Quartet #2. Christopher M. Wicks is a Fellow of the American Guild of Organists, and holds a MM in Composition from the University of Montreal, where he studied under Isabelle Panneton. A prolific composer of works in a variety of genres, he is a veteran of church music in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. [Music Avatar]
