Savannah Music Local and Sustainable October 30, 2024 John Madden

Tonight on Savannah Music Local and Sustainable I am talking with conductor, trumpet player,  music arranger, and music educator John Madden. John is an Emeritus Professor of Music in the College of Music at Michigan State University where he served on the faculty for 28 years. He has just been appointed the conductor of the Savannah Wind Symphony.  The Savannah Wind Symphony opens its 2024-2025 season a week from Sunday, November 3 at 3:00 PM in the Fine Arts Auditorium on the Armstrong Campus of Georgia Southern University with the Program “Masterworks for Band”.  The centerpiece of this concert is Gustav Holst’s “First Suite in E flat for Military Band” but will also feature music by Brahms, Wagner, Williams and Respighi.
